"Steady" Matt Forsythe has been a prolific songwriter since childhood.  First performing in the New England and Midwest folk scene, he recorded a number of acoustic albums, starting with The Child is Father to the Man (1992) and ending with True Acoustic Confessions (1998).  Upon completing  a four year degree in Creative Writing from Skidmore College, he embarked upon the life of a travelling minstrel.  Highlights included a two year stint in Australia which resulted in the January Day album and a three year stay in Japan which resulted in Steady Matt:  The Japanese Album

Matt got the nickname of  "Steady" for his experience as a homesteader on a rural piece of property in West Virginia.  He lived alone on a mountain and self studied slide guitar and built a local legend around his lifestyle.  Currently he has chosen to start the next adventure in Florida, where he has found a warm response and the promise of a fun and fulfilling lifestyle as an entertainer in the tropical sun soaked state.  Come out and hear his stories and help make more new ones.
